Preheat oven to 425 F. Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Add the egg, the gradually add half the milk, stirring the flour from the sides of the bowl using a spatula. Mix well until the mixture is smooth. Gently stir in the rest of the milk.
Spoon pan drippings into a 8×8 baking dish (I use my small cast iron pan, it gives the pudding a better crust) and place it in the 425 F oven for about 10 minutes to heat up. When the pan is hot, pour in the batter and return to the oven. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until the pudding is well risen, crisp, and golden brown.
Serve along side of a nice standing rib roast and don’t forget the English style brown gravy!! Its a good idea to make more than you think you’ll need because this stuff goes pretty fast.. well at least in our family, enjoy 🙂
