• Brain Berry Muesli

Brain Berry Muesli from Dr. Amen
    • ½ cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats (Do Not Use Instant Oats)
    • 1 cup Water
    • 1 Tbsp Cranberry Juice, unsweetened
    • 2 Tsps Honey (May Substitute Half With A Few Drops Of Stevie, I personally don’t care for Stevia)
    • 1 Tbsp Raw Almonds, chopped
    • 2 Tbsps Dried Cranberries
    • 1 Tbsp Wheat Germ
    • ½ tsp Vanilla
    • 1 large Apple, grated
    • 1 Banana¼ cup Fresh Blueberries
    • ½ cup Almond Milk, unsweetened (I use coconut milk yogurt instead of almond milk)
    • Optional, ½ cup plain or vanilla-flavored coconut milk yogurt (this is non-dairy with live cultures)
ADVANCE PREPARATION:  Oats, almonds, and sunflower seeds need to soak overnight. In a large bowl combine oats, water, cranberry juice, honey, almonds, sunflower seeds, cranberries (I don’t add the cranberries until I eat this because they plump up and in my opinion have an undesirable texture), wheat germ, and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Soaking the nuts and oats initiates the sprouting process, making the muesli a living meal filled with natural energy.

    1. Remove the soaked mixture from refrigerator.

    2. Grate the apple and add to mixture.

    3. Slice banana and add to mixture.

    4. Place into serving bowls.

    5. Sprinkle blueberries on top.

*Optional: Skip the milk and put a scoop of plain or vanilla-flavored coconut milk yogurt on top instead for added protein and flavor.

    6. Add milk or coconut milk yogurt and serve.
