• Gingersnaps

    • 2/3 cup lard or Crisco
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 4 Tbs Molasses
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 tsp soda
    • 1/2 tsp ginger
    • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Beat first five ingredients.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Roll into balls, dip into sugar.  I use my small icecream scoop, then flatten them with the bottom of a glass
    that has been dipped in sugar.
    Bake on 400 degree oven for 8-10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
    When you take them out of the oven let them sit for a few minutes because they are soft at first and go
    out of shape if you take them off right away.
