• Mom’s Hamburger Soup

Shauna from our Facebook community shared her mom’s hamburger soup recipe. ¬†Thanks, Shauna!

This is a soup my mom used to make when I was growing up. It was one of my favorites.

    My Mom’s Hamburger Soup

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 lb hamburger
    • 10 oz mixed vegetables (I used my organic frozen veggies from Costco that way I could customize the mix, I like lots of corn)(my moms would have been from her garden)
    • 1-16 oz can stewed tomatoes
    • 1-8 oz can tomato sauce
    • 1 packet dry onion soup mix (whichever one is your favorite)
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 2 cups water

    Directions:

    1. Brown ground meat.
    2. Add all other ingredients and bring to boil.
    3. Turn down and simmer for about twenty minutes.
    4. Serve with a loaf of good bread!

I doubled the recipe so I could freeze some for another meal. I’m so excited for dinner tonight. I didn’t have any idea growing up how much I would appreciate my mom’s meals but I can’t even put into words how it makes me feel when I can cook them for my family. Enjoy!
